Designing an attractive, accessible website for RNIB

Designing an attractive, accessible website for blind and partially-sighted people, as well as those with full sight, was a great challenge. We succeeded in designing templates which met the aims of the RNIB before handing over the build to another agency.

The aims of the project were to radically overhaul the dated-looking old website in terms of the online brand, user experience, IA and content. And at the same time, achieve high levels of accessibility for all users. It was a learning experience for us all! I contributed to the IA and UX consulting stages and I was responsible for the creative design of the site templates.

I'm proud to add the site also featured in an exhibition called 'Ergonomics - Real Design' at London's Design Museum between 18 Nov 2009 – 09 Mar 2010.
